This week, La Joya ISD’s Special Education classrooms participated in the district’s annual "Let’s Get Active" event, organized by the Special Education Adapted P.E. Coaches. Over the course of three days, students engaged in a variety of interactive activities designed to promote health, wellness, and the development of social and communication skills.
Held at Cesar Chavez Middle School Gym, the event provided students the opportunity to explore different activity stations tailored to their abilities. From relay games to fitness challenges, each station emphasized teamwork, self-confidence, and physical activity.
“This event is all about empowering our students and showing them how capable they are. Watching them cheer each other on and celebrate their accomplishments is what makes all the planning worth it,” said Aaron Garza, La Joya ISD Special Education Adaptive P.E. Coach. “It’s incredible to see their enthusiasm and growth year after year.”
The success of “Let’s Get Active” would not have been possible without the collaboration and dedication of La Joya ISD’s teachers, staff, and administrators. Their hard work ensured that every student had a positive and enriching experience.
La Joya ISD remains committed to creating inclusive opportunities that foster health, wellness, and a sense of community for all students. Events like "Let’s Get Active" highlight the district’s dedication to educational excellence and its mission to support every student at La Joya ISD.
