Dear Parents/Guardians, La Joya ISD is aware of threatening messages circulating on social media, targeting several schools in the Rio Grande Valley. Please know that the well-being of our school community remains our top priority, and we take all threats seriously. While an arrest has been made in another school district in connection with these threats, we want to assure you that we are closely monitoring the situation. At this time our campus administrators and police force have diligently followed up on potential threats posed at La Joya ISD campuses and will continue to keep campus communities updated. We have increased patrols in and around our campuses to ensure the continued safety of our students and staff as a further precaution. We also ask that you take this opportunity to talk with your children about the importance of not forwarding any threatening messages. Instead, they should report these threats immediately to a campus administrator. Please be aware that anyone responsible for making or circulating threats will face serious legal and administrative consequences. 📢 La Joya ISD proudly accepted a check for $330,410 from the Texas Workforce Commission through the Jobs & Education for Texans (JET) grant! 🎉 This funding allows us to purchase and install state-of-the-art equipment for our career and technical education (CTE) courses. Juarez-Lincoln High School will soon be home to advanced culinary equipment, providing even more opportunities for students pursuing a Culinary Arts Associate of Applied Science. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 Since 2016, La Joya ISD has been awarded six JET grants, totaling $2,370,672. These grants have enabled us to train 808 students, generating a remarkable $8,518,354 in economic impact. 💼🎓 We are proud to continue our legacy of excellence in education, empowering our students to succeed in their chosen careers and beyond. 🌟 #LegacyOfExcellence
