❄️ Weather Update – Delayed Start (Monday, January 26, 2026) ❄️

Due to expected inclement weather, all La Joya ISD schools will have a 1-hour delayed start for students on Monday, January 26.

Bus routes will also operate on a one-hour delay.

Teachers and staff should report at their regular time.

Morning athletic and fine arts practices are canceled.

Students may dress comfortably and warmly, uniforms will not be required, and hot chocolate will be available in cafeterias Monday morning. ☕

On Monday, January 26, current 5th-grade students will visit their future middle school campus during the school day to explore electives, meet teachers, and get excited for what’s next.

📣 Parents: Join us that evening for the 6th Grade Parent Information Meeting at 5:30 PM at your designated middle school campus.

🌧️ In the event of severe or inclement weather, families will be notified of any updates or changes.

At its January 21, 2026, board meeting, the La Joya ISD School Board approved school actions to improve academic quality, address a decade-long enrollment decline of more than 8,000 students, and ensure financial stability. Following months of analysis and engagement with over 900 stakeholders, these actions align district resources to better support student success. Student families and district employees received information today outlining impacts, timelines, and next steps.
