🎗️In September, La Joya ISD went all out for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!
💛 Our Go Gold Campaign has been a beloved tradition for years, but this time we took it to the next level! 💥 From Glow Gold Wednesdays to the Golden Walk for Cancer Awareness, Go Gold Football Night, and more—every department, from Academic Enrichment to Fine Arts, CTE, Athletics, and campus staff, came together to raise awareness, show our support, and make a real difference.
🙌✨Our students, families, and community felt the power of our unity as we worked together to support this important cause.
Today, during the Principal's meeting, LJISD proudly donated a check to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the RGV, sourced from amazing student fundraisers to help children battling cancer.
💙💫Special shoutout to the schools that went above and beyond:
Tabasco Elementary raised $211.32 🎉
Mendiola Elementary raised $415.21 👏
Sam Fordyce Elementary raised an incredible $1,936.67! 🎉 🙌
In total, we presented Make-A-Wish RGV with $2,563.20 along with Letters of Hope written by our students to young cancer warriors. 💌 ✨ Together, we’re making a difference, one step at a time!💛
