National Music in Our Schools Month
Emiliano Zapata Elementary, designated Fine Arts Campus at our wonderful La Joya ISD, celebrates National Music in Our Schools Month. Students are excited to be interviewed about their experiences relevant to Music that Mr. Julito Pepito, Music Director offers every single student at the school.
Mr. Julito Pepito, originally from the Phillipines, brought with him HIS LOVE FOR MUSIC. He conducts choir, teaches children how to sing and play musical instruments including piano. He is a true asset to our Fine Arts designated campus as it is evident that children love what he has to offer. “I can sing in tune and can reach high notes because Mr. Pepito taught me how,” states Delanie Vasquez.
He has directed various musical to promote the arts, values and empowers the younger generations to gain self-confidence in their lives. He has helped different community projects all over Rio Grande Valley and beyond. He has contributed to food drives in Edinburg, Texas and helped rebuild the Mission Church Rockport, Texas that was badly hit by Hurricane Harvey in the past. He has also directed his Rio Grande Children’s Choir as they performed at the McAllen Performing Arts in the past as well – all in cooperation with the McAllen Wind Ensemble to help professional and local bands in the town.
Emiliano Zapata Elementary is very proud to have general music class, choir, Orff ensemble, theatre arts, piano and guitar class. His talent, skills and continued faith in our children has made our school children excited about developing a love for music.
“I am amazed how he is able to teach a variety of instruments to each grade level and get his theatre group to sing and dance while showing various emotions to go with the music. Staying afterschool and on Saturdays show his dedication for Zapata Students.”
“Mr. Pepito is extremely talented and able to get students to do amazing things. He is dedicated to his craft and profession and the performance of the students year after year show it.”
Our amazing leaders, teachers and support staff support his efforts 100% because they see the results of his work.
