La Joya TX,— The La Joya Independent School District Board of Trustees is proud to announce that Heriberto D. Gonzalez has been named the lone finalist for the position of Superintendent of Schools. This decision was reached during tonight’s Special Called Board Meeting.
As mandated by Texas law, the district's Board of Trustees is required to observe a 21-day waiting period after identifying a lone finalist before formalizing a contract offer. During this time, Mr. Gonzalez will be given the opportunity to continue engaging with the community and familiarize himself further with the district's goals and aspirations.
Alejandro “Alex Cantu La Joya ISD Board President, expressed his enthusiasm for the selection, saying, "Mr. Gonzalez brings a wealth of experience and innovative leadership to the table. We are confident that his passion for education and commitment to excellence align seamlessly with our district's mission."
Heriberto D. Gonzalez who has been serving as the district's Interim Superintendent of Schools, will continue to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the continuity of progress while the transition unfolds.
