In the first match of the season, the Lady Coyotes initially struggled with first-game jitters, reflected in a tense first set. They led 23-16, but the Donna North coach's timeout ignited a comeback. The Lady Chiefs closed in at 24-21. A timeout by Lady Coyotes Head Coach Maggie Garcia aimed to "refocus the team". Garcia stressed the importance of "relaxation and execution". "The pressure was on us, being ahead." said Coach Garcia.

Garcia's guidance proved pivotal as the Lady Coyotes managed to clinch the first set. The momentum carried into the second set, with senior Angie Silva and junior Lenny Garcia leading the charge with serving prowess, each securing two aces.

By the third set, the Lady Coyotes had found their rhythm and enjoyment. Sophomore starter Emma Gomez noted the "excellent communication within the team", contributing to their victory. Gomez topped with 7 kills and 9 digs, while junior Mel Juarez excelled in assists with 8.  Senior Fernanda Morales added 6 digs while Natalie Munoz added 6 assists to the victory. (25-21, 25-10, 25-10)

The Lady Coyotes look forward to the Donna Tournament this Friday and Saturday, ready to showcase their improved cohesion and skills on the court.
