With the 2022-2023 school year nearing its end, La Joya HS held its annual recognition of the "Who's Who" students with a pancake breakfast this morning. Being named "Who's Who" of La Joya High School is quite an honor. Students are first nominated by teachers, then fill out an application, and then the applications are reviewed by a selection committee. Through this process, a total of 31 students from La Joya HS, La Joya Early College HS, and the Academy of Health Science Professions were recognized with the "Who's Who" distinction. Students are selected based on their academic merits, extracurricular involvement, and community service. "When it came to the morning breakfast celebration, it was nice. It was great to see that the efforts of my hard work throughout my years at La Joya HS were recognized and noticed," said Kimberly Olguin, one of the students recognized as an "All-Around Who's Who." Principal Mr. Antonio Cano went on to add that "a Who's Who student is a student who exemplifies the example that we want all of our students to be at La Joya HS - to be well-rounded, be involved in extracurricular organizations and clubs, be model students in the classroom, be mindful and respectful, and be good citizens."
