The JLHS JROTC “Husky Battalion” announces the appointment of Cadet Diana Castillo as the new Battalion Commander for the upcoming school year. In addition to her selection, she was also promoted to the rank of Cadet Lieutenant Colonel. Diana brings 3 years of leadership experience and active participation in many JROTC teams Including Raider, Color guard, Armed Drill, Orienteering, and PT teams. She has served as a private, 1st Sergeant, Company Commander, and Battalion Executive officer. Diana is in orchestra and also plays varsity volleyball and track. Her goal for the “Husky Battalion” is to motivate cadets to become better through active participation and motivation. She wants each cadet be dedicated to becoming a strong leader. The Senior Army Instructor said, “Diana is very driven and thrives on the challenges of leadership, her dedication and passion for JROTC will serve the Corp of Cadets well”. LTC Roybal also said, that he is very thankful for the service of the outgoing commander C/LTC Abimelec Morales. He said, “AB did a tremendous job this past school year and we all wish him the best in the future as he has enlisted into the US Army.”
