November 21, 2024 – JFK Elementary 5th graders experienced marine science up close during a field trip to the UTPA Coastal Studies Lab in South Padre Island. The highlight of the day was a hands-on shark dissection, where students learned about marine biology and the importance of ocean conservation.
“This was an incredible opportunity for our students to explore science in a real-world setting,” shared 5th grade teacher, Melissa Guerra.
