Annual Sea Perch Regional Qualifier
The Academy of Health Science Professions & STEM hosted their annual Sea Perch Regional Qualifier on April 1 2023, which is an underwater robotics challenge for middle school and high school teams. Mr. Emilio Hinojosa (AHSP-STEM teacher and Sea Perch Coordinator) along with divers and representatives from the U.S. Navy, AHSP-STEM Principal Mrs. LeAnn Alaniz-Herrera, students, and staff, hosted a fun and engaging STEM activity for our community. Schools from all over the valley attended the event. The results were are follows:
1st place - Los Fresnos HS Falcons
2nd place - Mozart Secondary Knights
3rd place - Academy of Health Science Professions & STEM Sea Devils
The top two places advance to Nationals at the University of Maryland.
